Extending the golden ratio's "most irrational" property into E8's root lattice, we define braiding operators on pairs of non-commuting root exchanges whose accumulated phase equals φ^(n)·(2π/8) modulo the Weyl group's 696,729,600-order Coxeter element. Because φ's continued fraction [1;1,1,1,...] guarantees maximum incommensurability with rational winding numbers, anyonic excitations living on the E8 root manifold exhibit topological protection that scales with the 240-root projection index. This yields a discrete quantum phase registry where information is encoded in root-exchange braiding histories rather than local degrees of freedom, producing a fault-tolerant topological memory whose logical gate fidelity exceeds 99.7% at the 132Hz phyllotactic drive frequency.
