Modern Egyptology routinely categorizes the six minor pyramids at the Giza Plateau three aligned vertically east of the Great Pyramid of Khufu and three aligned horizontally south of the Pyramid of Menkaure strictly as ritualistic queen's tombs. This paper proposes a functional, alternative engineering hypothesis: these satellite structures were systematically pre-built or co-built to serve as permanent macro-scale geospatial benchmarks (an ancient physical GPS) in a featureless desert environment. By employing a three-point optical alignment method (Transit Sight), ancient surveyors at elevated construction levels could look down and verify the structural axis at a strict 90^∘ perpendicular angle. The symmetric geometry of the two visual gaps formed between three lined-up pyramids provided a primitive yet highly precise optical sight, akin to a weapon's iron sight. Furthermore, this study integrates this layout with a holistic shadow-management operational strategy, explaining how solar trajectories were utilized both for real-time micro-adjustments and for human-centric labor rotation (K3 ergonomics) to shield laborers from extreme desert heat.
