Key result
Cardiac pacemaking is linked to sustained relief of Stokes-Adams attacks and multiyear survival.
Why the study?
The indications for cardiac pacemaking are becoming established for heart-block and Stokes-Adams seizure, while possibilities for other rhythm disorders remain under exploration.

Answers are grounded in this paper and cite their sources.
Pacing may relieve Stokes-Adams attacks; supports established use in complete heart block while leaving broader rhythm applications open.
Clinical Use of Cardiac PacemakingThe indications for pacemaking are becoming established in the management of heart-block and Stokes-Adams seizure. For other disorders of rhythm the possibilities are still under exploration.1. A. B. Taylor (1966) conducted an observational in Complete heart-block and Stokes-Adams attacks (n=56). Cardiac pacemaking (inductive coupled pacing or intracardiac electrode) was evaluated on Survival and relief of Stokes-Adams attacks. Cardiac pacemaking successfully relieved Stokes-Adams attacks and symptoms of low cardiac output, with 28 patients on permanent pacemaking surviving up to 5.5 years.
