Exploratory drilling in the Four Corners-Intermountain area during 1968 was at about the same level as 1967. Development drilling was lower because of the lack of significant discoveries. Increased leasing activity during 1968 together with the increase in geophysical activity should cause a significant increase in exploratory drilling during 1969.
