The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic nonprofit organization established by drinking water and wastewater utility company American Water, and its affiliate, Indiana American Water, have awarded a $25,000 grant to Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana to support science, technology, engineering and math education programming. According to the foundation, the grant will support a three-part outdoor STEM education series for Girl Scouts in Southern Indiana, providing hands-on experiences in scientific research, environmental conservation and pollinator habitat restoration while inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders. The STEM Education Grant is part of the foundation's Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, which focuses on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities. The program provides STEM-focused curricular and extracurricular programs for underserved students, the foundation said.
