Risk Perception in Chemical, Petrochemical and Oil & Gas Industries: Neuro-Behavioral Model Based on FISPQ/MSDS, Flash Point and 629 Assets Management with 99.34% HRN Compliance

This article presents a neuro-behavioral integrated model to improve risk perception in chemical, petrochemical, and oil & gas industries. Based on 629 industrial assets managed with 99.34% HRN compliance, the study shows that 80% of near misses stem from failure to interpret critical information from SDS/MSDS, GHS classification, flash point, and storage/handling procedures. Applicable to Brazil (NR-12, NR-20, NBR 14725) and USA (OSHA HazCom 29 CFR 1910.1200, PSM 1910.119).
