In this work L-Arginine loaded microbeads were prepared by ionotropic gelation process and evaluated. Naturalpolymers selected were chitosan and starch and calcium chloride was utilized as crosslinking agent. Percentage yield, particle size, entrapment effectiveness, swelling index and in-vitro drug release of produced microbeads were assessed. Theresults showed that the microbeads formed well and had good physicochemical properties. Entrapment efficiency andswelling behavior improved with polymer concentration which indicates effectual drug integration into the polymeric matrix. The improved formulation displayed sustained release of medication over longer time period.
