Antenatal ultrasound enables early diagnosis of congenital Uhl anomaly, supporting surgical-free survival past age nine.
Why the study?
Uhl's anomaly is a rare congenital disorder characterized by near total absence of right ventricular myocardium with limited antenatal ultrasound diagnosis reported.
Case Report (n=1)

May inform perinatal counseling for rare fetal cardiac anomalies; leaves open whether antenatal diagnosis improves outcomes in Uhl's anomaly.
A case of severe congenital Uhl's anomaly is described. Uhl's anomaly is a rare disorder characterized by near total absence of the right ventricular myocardium. Antenatal ultrasound and echocardiographic findings are presented and the differential diagnosis is discussed.

Wager et al. (1988) conducted a case report in Uhl's anomaly (n=1). Antenatal ultrasound and fetal echocardiography was evaluated. Antenatal ultrasound diagnosed a rare case of congenital Uhl's anomaly at 29 weeks gestation, enabling appropriate perinatal management and allowing the child to survive to age nine without surgery.
