Key result
Elevated LDL-C is linked to ~2.8-fold higher odds of early coronary heart disease.
Why the study?
Lipid imbalance and its prognostic value for early coronary heart disease risk stratification in the population of the Republic of Karakalpakstan were not well characterized.
Case-Control (n=220)
No
Elevated LDL-C and triglycerides along with reduced HDL-C are strong independent predictors of early coronary heart disease in the population of the Aral Sea region, confirming the utility of routine lipid screening.
Supports LDL-C screening in this population; hypothesis-generating and requires prospective validation before changing practice.
Lipid imbalance contributes significantly to early coronary heart disease formation in the population of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. It was established that there were statistically higher levels of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglycerides in patients with early coronary involvement. It was determined that reduced high-density lipoprotein cholesterol increases atherogenic risk. The impact of lipid parameters on coronary risk was evaluated using logistic regression and ROC analysis. Distribution patterns of lipid fractions across clinical groups were characterized. The prognostic value of combined lipid abnormalities for early cardiovascular risk stratification was considered.

Кеулимжаева et al. (2026) conducted a case-control in Early-stage coronary heart disease (n=220). Elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) vs. Healthy controls / lower LDL-C levels was evaluated on Early-stage coronary heart disease prediction (OR 2.84, 95% CI 1.92-4.21, p=<0.001). Elevated LDL-C was the strongest independent predictor of early coronary heart disease (OR 2.84), showing high discriminative capacity (AUC = 0.86).
