The species Hertia angustifolia (DC.) Kuntze and Hertia intermedia (Boiss.) Kuntze are lectotypified. The designated lectotypes are kept at the Geneva herbarium (G‐DC and G‐BOIS, respectively). These lectotypifications maintain the current taxonomic concept of the names. Distribution maps are presented for these two species. The previously reported occurrence of H. angustifolia in Pakistan is shown to be based on misidentified material referable to H. intermedia . Consequently, H. angustifolia is here regarded as endemic to Iran.
