The first decade and a half of the 21st century has seen an awakening in the pharmaceutical community for increased and focused application of materials science and engineering principles for optimal pharmaceutical performance. The phrase “Molecules, Materials, Medicines” encapsulates the idea that drugs are a convergence of these three “M-words”.
