Genetic minimal cut sets (gMCSs) for metabolite synthesis in human and yeast genome-scale metabolic models, supporting the paper "Metabolite essentiality in cancer cell lines predicted by genetic minimal cut sets". A gMCS is a minimal set of genes whose joint knockout blocks synthesis of a metabolite. The record contains the gMCSs of every metabolite in Human-GEM 1.19.0 with HPLM + FBS medium (up to 4 genes; Metabolite_gMCSs.rar), and in yeast-GEM 9.1.1 (784 metabolites, up to 3 genes; gmcs_per_metabolite_yeast.csv.gz). The yeast gMCSs were used to validate the method against curated auxotrophies (Supplementary Note 1). Version control at: https://github.com/PlanesLab/gmcs_metabolite_essentiality. The metabolic models are not redistributed; see the README for versions and sources.
