Electroanatomical mapping reveals extensive biatrial low-voltage substrate preceding formal LMNA cardiomyopathy diagnosis.
Why the study?
The extent of atrial structural remodeling and fibrosis in LMNA cardiomyopathy with atrial arrhythmias remains incompletely characterized.
Case Report (n=1)
Electroanatomical mapping reveals extensive biatrial low-voltage substrate in LMNA cardiomyopathy, highlighting significant atrial structural remodeling and fibrosis in these patients.

Extensive biatrial low-voltage substrate may occur in LMNA cardiomyopathy; extends atrial remodeling characterization but remains hypothesis-generating.
LMNA cardiomyopathy is well characterized by progressive conduction disease, ventricular arrhythmias and dilated cardiomyopathy. Although atrial arrhythmias are increasingly recognized, the extent of atrial structural remodeling and fibrosis remains incompletely characterized. We report a patient who presented with atrial fibrillation, bradycardia and left ventricular dysfunction, in whom electroanatomical mapping (EAM) demonstrated extensive biatrial low-voltage substrate before the diagnosis of genetically confirmed LMNA cardiomyopathy was established .

Alkharji et al. (2026) conducted a case report in LMNA cardiomyopathy with atrial fibrillation (n=1). Electroanatomical mapping was evaluated on Atrial structural remodeling and fibrosis. Electroanatomical mapping demonstrated extensive biatrial low-voltage substrate in a patient with atrial fibrillation before a diagnosis of LMNA cardiomyopathy was established.
