Objective: Accurate perioperative risk stratification supports informed consent, shared decision-making, and perioperative planning. National guidance from the Royal College of Surgeons and the Perioperative Quality Improvement Programme recommends documentation of individualised perioperative risk of morbidity and mortality within both the medical record and surgical consent form. Patients with periprosthetic fractures represent a predominantly older and high-risk cohort. This study evaluated local compliance with national standards for documentation of individualised perioperative risk in patients undergoing operative management of periprosthetic fractures.
