Numerical N-body integrations show that there may exist stable, 1-1 resonance, asteroidal orbits for the planet earth. The perturbations by other planets seem to be of minor importance. This conclusion applies for at least tens of thousands of years, possibly permanently. The numerical results suggest that averaging techniques should work well in analytic studies of the problem. The interesting possibility of stable retrograde Trojan-like orbits is pointed out.
