This article presents the Synergetic Navigation System (SNS), an Internet and app-based tool for monitoring and analyzing change dynamics and outcomes in psychotherapy. It is generic in the sense that a variety of outcome and process questionnaires can be selected (personalized process questionnaires can also be created, based on case conceptualizations) and sampling rates can be defined. The SNS visualizes the results of screening or outcome questionnaires using bar charts, and the data and analysis results of process assessment using time series charts. Many different methods of nonlinear time series analysis are available, particularly for identifying pattern transitions and precursors of transitions as well as stable and unstable periods during the therapeutic process, which helps to exploit windows of opportunity and “kairos” moments. Experiences in implementation, technical requirements, training programs, and required competencies as well as the therapeutic effects and additional benefits of using the SNS in routine practice are delineated. Scientific projects based on data from the SNS are listed, and a short description of ongoing developments is given (fourth technological generation).
