The field of nanomedicine has placed special emphasis on the fact that biopolymers are crucial medicine materials to enhance diagnosis and treatment of cancer. They are beneficial since they are biocompatible, biodegradable, not very immunogenic, and can be readily chemically modified. This gives a chance to create superior systems of drug delivery and diagnostic systems. Cancer therapies that utilize biopolymers operate by designing nano or micro‐carriers that contain drug chemotherapy, nucleic acids, or immunomodulators. This enhances the behavior of the drugs in the body as well as helps in the targeting of the tumor by promotion of permeability and retention effect. These carriers may also be targeted on their surfaces to increase their ability to target the cancer cells decreasing the side effects. Biosensors, imaging probes, and the collection of tumor cells in the blood and various other diagnostics are biosensor applications of biopolymers. They enhance tumor images as they are attached to the contrast agent, thus resulting into the enhancement of tumor identification. On the whole, biopolymers provide a new effective, and safer method of personalized treatment and diagnosis of cancer.
