A computational methodology for solving melting problems that includes free convection influences is presented. The procedure employs a stream function-voracity-temperature formulation in conjunction with body-fitted coordinates. The control volume discretized equations are solved with a modified strongly implicit method. Some results are discussed and compared to experimental data.
