The EU-Bangladesh TRACE-BD framework proposes a Transparent, Responsible AI-Enabled Circular Ecosystem to address critical EU compliance requirements for Bangladesh's export sectors. PROBLEM:92% of Bangladesh-EU trade depends on RMG sector. EU regulations coming: Digital Product Passport (DPP), Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) 2024/1781, Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and EU AI Act. Bangladesh needs verifiable traceability from fiber to retail. SOLUTION - TRACE-BD FRAMEWORK:T - Transparent: Blockchain-based Digital Product Passport (DPP) for end-to-end traceabilityR - Responsible: AI governance aligned with EU AI Act & Trustworthy AI principlesA - AI-Enabled: Responsible AI for waste segregation, quality control, and carbon trackingC - Circular: Closing the loop - textile waste (jhut) to recycled fiber, reducing import dependencyE - Ecosystem: Multi-stakeholder platform - BGMEA, BKMEA, SMEs, EU buyers, GIZ, EU Delegation KEY INNOVATION - 100-Point Holistic Evaluation Scale:TRACE-BD introduces a 100-point scale (10 dimensions x 10 points) to evaluate early-stage startups and SMEs for EU funding readiness:Traction, Resilience, Agility, Capital, Ecosystem, Business Model, Distribution, Data, Impact, Governance. This aligns with EU funding mechanisms: EIC Accelerator, Horizon Europe, Global Gateway, and SWITCH2CE.
