This preprint outlines a formal structural framework—the Syllogistic Critique of Modernity Test—to evaluate the historical origin points and modern manifestations of socio-economic progress against rigid thermodynamic and physical boundaries. Operating under the cybernetic axiom 'You are not to know you are imperfect,' we demonstrate how modern metasystems achieve an illusion of infinite advancement through artificial informational decoupling and geographic/temporal externalization of resource depletion costs. We apply this three-tier analytical lens to traditional milestone timelines ('when did modernity begin') including the early modern maritime expansions, the Enlightenment paradigm of absolute rationality, and the fossil-fueled Industrial Revolution.
