The project is led by Asiera and funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS), and runs from February 2026 to February 2027. The workshop introduced the EOSC Ireland project and the service onboarding and federation concepts that matter to Irish research service providers, with two service examples: the ISSDA Dataverse (Irish Social Science Data Archive, UCD) and the Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) Ireland. Most of the session was given to breakout discussions by service type: (1) data repositories and curated knowledgebases; (2) institutional repositories and open access; (3) compute, HPC and research IT; (4) sensitive data services. Each group discussed the benefits of onboarding/federating a service, the challenges, the supports needed, and recommendations specific to their service type, and reported back three key takeaways.
