Internet connectivity in urban parks is transforming contemporary leisure, yet its social and subjective impacts require deeper analysis. This study explores whether digitalisation enhances or undermines recreational experiences, through a review of literature, documented cases and expert insights. Findings reveal that, while the internet facilitates access to information and new spatial uses, it may also fragment attention, weaken social interaction, and reduce the restorative role of parks. The challenge lies in balancing technology with sensorial engagement, while ensuring that these spaces continue to foster well-being, social encounters and democratisation. The work contributes key insights for inclusive urban policy in digital cities.
