The evolving landscape of AI has brought unprecedented changes to game production in China. A holistic examination of AI literacy among Chinese game industry professionals is conducive to a thorough, critical understanding of how AI transforms cultural production in the gaming sector and beyond. Drawing on survey data from 129 professionals engaging the full spectrum of game production business, this research finds that the practical dimension of AI literacy develops via non-coding AI usage, while the cognitive dimension is tied to production expertise. When mapping production and industry outcomes, practical and cognitive competencies substantially predict cost efficiencies, market scaling, and creative innovation. Conversely, the critical dimension of AI literacy serves as the primary driver of anxieties regarding labour displacement, asset devaluation, and creative homogenisation.
