This study aimed to investigate the longitudinal relationship between everyday discrimination experienced among 707 lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals and their substance use over two years, considering age group as a moderator. The findings revealed that higher levels of everyday discrimination and younger age group were linked to increased substance use after two years. The interaction term between everyday discrimination and age group was also significant, demonstrating that the relationship between everyday discrimination and substance use after two years was more pronounced among younger individuals compared to those of the average age group. Implications for counseling professionals are discussed.
