We present a genome assembly from an individual male Ocys tachysoides (ground beetle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Carabidae). The primary assembly has a total length of 493.76 megabases. Most of the primary assembly (83.47%) is scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 18.2 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
