We study the qualitative properties of the solution of a plate system with boundary frictional damping and delay term having time-dependent coefficients α(t) and η(t) and a variable exponent m(x). Under suitable condition on the weight of the delayed feedback compared with the weight of the non-delayed feedback, we use the multiplier method and construct explicit energy decay estimates depending on both m and α, which extend and enhance earlier related results in the literature.
