Heymans et al. (2022) conducted an editorial in COVID-19 mRNA vaccine-associated myocarditis. SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination (mRNA-1273 and BNT162b2) vs. Unvaccinated individuals or pre-COVID historical controls was evaluated on Acute myocarditis within 28 days of mRNA-1273 vaccination among 12- to 39-year-olds (HR 5.24, 95% CI 2.47-11.12). SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination triggers rare, mild myocarditis in 1 to 5 per 100,000 vaccinees, with an adjusted HR of 5.24 (95% CI 2.47-11.12) for mRNA-1273 in 12- to 39-year-olds.
