This review examines the various ways artificial intelligence (AI) can influence school management and its potential to promote sustainable education. It brings together the findings from earlier studies to illustrate how schools are using AI to simplify administrative tasks, enrich learning experiences, and support sustainable education efforts. Key uses include AI tools for real-time data analysis, better resource management, and personalised learning paths that connect students with real-world environmental issues. By managing tasks such as data cleaning and report generation, AI enables educators and staff to dedicate more time to strategic initiatives like developing curricula and engaging the community in sustainability projects. The review also highlights major challenges and risks of using AI in education, such as concerns about data privacy, the need for reliable infrastructure, and ethical issues related to algorithmic bias. The findings show that although AI provides powerful tools for creating efficient and environmentally conscious schools, successful and fair implementation requires careful planning, targeted teacher training, and a focus on equal access. The article concludes by emphasising key areas for future research, underlining the need for robust frameworks to enable schools to use AI responsibly while promoting both academic excellence and a culture of sustainability and sustainable education.
