The study draws on the DHS Program survey indicator 'Family planning messages at community meeting or event' (id FP_EFPM_M_COM) across 15 African countries from 2021 to 2025, with 15 country-survey observations. The mean value of the indicator was 29.733 (SD = 17.495), ranging from 6.60 in Mali to 73.40 in Malawi. The integration of financial shocks into community mental health service delivery requires a reorientation of relapse prevention toward debt-cycle surveillance. The contribution is a methodological framework for estimating the causal effect of village savings-group loan default on depression relapse, with implications for community mental health service planning in Ghana and comparable settings.
