Traditional methodologies for formulating group sampling plans frequently depend on fixed values for both producer and consumer risks, which may fail to adequately capture the variability inherent in inspection processes. In this paper, we introduce a framework that integrates both conventional and expected producer and consumer risks into the formulation of group plans under a generalized lifetime distribution. The proposed approach generalizes traditional group sampling plans when prior information exists on the probability of observing defectives in the production process. Comparative analyses affirm the advantages of group sampling plans by effectively balancing risks and improving efficiency regarding sampling size efforts. The findings indicate that expected risks lead to more robust and practically relevant group sampling plans. The Weibull distribution is specifically examined to outline the design parameters corresponding to various quality levels.
