This study aimed to develop and validate the Relationship Problems Scale (RPS) to assess romantic relationship difficulties among LGBTQI+ individuals. A diverse sample of 1,057 participants completed the RPS along with measures of love and life satisfaction. Six key factors were identified: Projection Difficulties, Sexual Difficulties, Stigmatization, Emotional Support and Conflict, Non-Monogamous Behavior, and Emotional Fragility. The RPS showed good reliability and validity. Findings revealed that certain LGBTQI+ subgroups experience greater relational challenges than cisgender heterosexual individuals. The RPS is a reliable tool, and targeted interventions are needed to support healthier relationships within the LGBTQI+ community.
