In this study, the interaction among three coplanar finite cracks, excited by normally incident waves and arranged symmetrically within an infinite elastic medium, is investigated. By employing the Fourier transform, the elastodynamic problem is reduced to a system of four integral equations, which are subsequently solved using the finite Hilbert transform technique in conjunction with Cook’s result. Analytical expressions for the Crack Opening Displacement or COD (measures the separation distance between the opposite faces of a crack tip under an applied load) and Stress Intensity Factors or SIF (predicts the stress state near a crack tip caused by a remote load) are derived for low-frequency regimes. Furthermore, numerical values of the stress intensity factor and crack opening displacement are evaluated and presented through graphical illustrations.
