This slidedeck was used in a workshop at the Netherlands National Open Science Festival on October 14, 2026. The slides introduce the topic for the workshop, explaining the intersection of Open Science (OS) and Intellectual Property (IP), and how IP rules can help making research outputs available in a responsible and effective way. The slides also introduce the European IP4OS program, focussing on the roles they have identified for the multi-professional team that is needed to support researchers in sharing their research output and where relevant valorising the knowledge they create. After these roles have been introduced, the interactive activity is explained, in which workshop participants discussed cases in which IP and OS play a role. The final slides contain references to IP4OS material.
