It is my pleasure to reintroduce Erik Hohmann as Arthroscopy's newest Deputy Editor. As a former Associate Editor and long-standing member of the Editorial Board, Dr. Hohmann's contributions to the journal continue to be invaluable.1 Since he was brought on as Associate Editor back in 2015, he has further developed and honed his areas of expertise. In 2016, he earned his Aviation Medical Specialist license through Flying Medicine UK, General Civil Aviation Authority. In 2020, he earned a Diploma in Football Medicine from the Federation Internationale de Football Association Medical. Then in 2023, he became a Fellow of the Academy of Surgeons Middle East, where he went on to earn Accreditation as a Master Surgeon in 2024. Dr. Hohmann is now the Aeromedical Examiner Specialist for the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates, as well as the Aeromedical Examiner for Virgin Galactic. His specialized focus on orthopaedic services to the aviation industry aids in his role as Advisor and Orthopaedic Consultant for the Occupational Medicine Department of Emirates Airlines. He also founded Aeromedical Medical Education and became a Member of the Scientific Committee for the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine, as well as an Honorary Member of the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine. He continues to be active in sports, both through work and personally. He added Chief Medical Officer for the 2022 World Tennis League, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Chief Medical Officer for the 2023 World Padel League, also for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to his accomplishments professionally. Personally, he tests his stamina by engaging in long-distance mountain bike racing.
