Interprofessional collaboration (IPC) is essential for providing comprehensive and coordinated care in mental health settings. Good collaboration among mental health professionals (MHPs) has been found to reduce clinical errors, improve patient health status and enhance the quality of patient care, while leading to better patient treatment compliance and enhanced satisfaction & also increases work satisfaction and motivation among professionals, while reducing tensions and promoting problem solving in health care teams. The Bio-Psycho-Social (BPS) model for mental health was adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2002. It is a comprehensive approach that recognizes, mental health is influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors. Aim of the Study: To explore and understand the perceptions of mental health professionals regarding interdisciplinary collaboration within mental health care settings Methodology: The study has adopted a descriptive cross-sectional design using a quantitative approach. The total sample size was 50; purposive sampling technique was used for data collection from mental health professionals. Semi structured sociodemographic datasheet & IPC (Interprofessional Collaboration Scale, Kenaszchuk, 2010) was used to collect data. It has carried out at the Mental Health Institute (COE), SCB MCH, CUTTACK. Results: The study found that overall level of interprofessional collaboration is generally high, particularly where allied health professionals are involved with significant variation across roles. Conclusion: Strengthening interprofessional collaboration can lead to improved patient outcomes, better staff morale, and a more cohesive care environment. The findings underscore the importance of clear role definitions, effective communication, and ongoing interprofessional education in fostering collaborative mental health care.
