A new intuitionistic fuzzy implication on intuitionistic fuzzy pairs is introduced. We prove that the operation is well defined, establish its boundary values and monotonicity properties, and determine the negation generated by it. Its behaviour with respect to the Klir–Yuan axioms and their intuitionistic fuzzy modifications is studied, with the valid and invalid properties stated separately. A comparison with several structurally close intuitionistic fuzzy implications is given. We also construct the coimplication dual to the new operation with respect to the standard strong intuitionistic fuzzy negation.
