SUMMARY The lacrimal gland for one eye was removed from each of 3 dogs, and periodic clinical examinations and Schirmer tear tests were conducted for 8 to 13 months. The eyes without lacrimal glands remained normal, and although the Schirmer tear test values were usually slightly less than those for the contralateral eyes, they remained within normal range.
