This paper proposes and experimentally demonstrates a reconfigurable method for generating tunable periodic microwave frequency-hopping signals. The proposed scheme is based on an optoelectronic parametric oscillator (OEPO). By employing dual parallel narrowband filters and injecting an external signal whose frequency equals the difference between the center frequencies of the two filters, dual-frequency oscillation and frequency-hopping signals can be generated. By tuning the injection power, loop gain, and phase shifter, the period of the generated frequency-hopping signal can be flexibly adjusted, thereby enabling the realization of reconfigurable tunable periodic frequency-hopping signals. Experimental results show that the minimum achievable hopping period is as low as 0.1 µs, while the hopping range can reach up to 5.8 GHz. The proposed scheme provides a flexible frequency-hopping signal generation approach with potential applications in anti-jamming radar and electronic warfare systems.
