The article examines several possible pathways of microbial contamination of raw milk during its production. The following microorganisms were isolated from mammary gland secretions in cases of subclinical mastitis: Staphylococcus aureus , Enterococcus faecium , Enterobacter spp . (non-pathogenic type), Streptococcus agalacti а e , Staphylococcus spp., Proteus spp. , Escherichia coli (non-pathogenic type), Streptococcus disagalactiae , Staphylococcus epidermidis , Pseudomonas aeruginosa , Corynebacterium bovis , Enterococcus faecalis , Trueperella pyogenes , Streptococcus uberis . It was found that samples of swabs were taken from the gloves of machine milking operators immediately before preparing the next cow for milking and the following associations of opportunistic microorganisms were isolated, including the following bacterial species: E.faecium , S.aureus , Enterobacter spp . (non-pathogenic type), Staphylococcus spp ., Streptococcus uberis . From such parts of milking equipment as teat liner and collector were isolated microorganisms S. aureus , S. agalacti а e , S. disagalactiae , S. epidermidis , Staphylococcus spp ., Enterobacter spp . (non-pathogenic type), Proteus spp ., E. faecium , E. coli (non-pathogenic type), P. aeruginosa , which can be a direct cause of mastitis development in animals. From teat skin were isolated microorganisms S. aureus , E. coli (non-pathogenic type), Staphylococcus spp ., C. bovis , E. faecium , E. faecalis , Proteus spp ., Enterobacter spp . (non-pathogenic type), P. aeruginosa , and S. agalactiae , which can cause mastitis if the mammary gland is not properly treated before milking. Thus, the microbiological safety of raw milk is associated with the risk of contamination with opportunistic microorganisms that can cause mastitis due to poor pre-milking hygiene, equipment disinfection, and poor personal hygiene practices among machine milking operators.
