Water quality and safe water are one of the most important concerns for human life and contaminated water can affect various factors such as human health, agriculture, and the surrounding environment. Traditional methods of checking water quality are usually done by collecting samples and sending them for laboratory testing. Traditional testing methods give accurate data, but they are just too slow. Nor do they measure water condition changes over time. To address this, our project proposes an IoT and cloud based Smart Water Quality Monitoring System. The system uses a network of digital sensors to continuously measure pH, temperature, turbidity, TDS, conductivity and dissolved oxygen in real time. The sensors collect water quality parameters through an IoT-based microcontroller and send those readings to the cloud platform. The cloud platform builds a dashboard based on the readings that come from the sensors and shows them to the users and the responsible authorities, so they can monitor water conditions and parameters remotely. When an important parameter crosses the safe limit, the system sends an alert to the authorities and the users to take the required action. The information sent to the cloud platform is also stored, and that information can further be used to study water quality over time and identify patterns in the collected data. This helps to predict the future conditions of the water with the help of machine learning or forecasting techniques.
