This paper examines how verbal and non-verbal resources jointly construct meaning in English- and Uzbek-language social media communication. Drawing on computer-mediated discourse analysis, multimodal social semiotics and cyberpragmatics, it compares the functions of linguistic choices, emojis, hashtags, images and platform-specific reactions. The discussion shows how these resources can guide interpretation, negotiate interpersonal relations and mobilize online participation. Illustrative bilingual examples are used for qualitative comparison rather than treated as empirical corpus findings.
