A new species of the genus Neoterpnosia (Neoterpnosia mawphlangensis sp. nov.) is described from the semi-evergreen forests of Mawphlang Hills, Meghalaya, northeastern India, using morphological and bioacoustics analyses. This species is distinguished by a unique morphology of male genitalia with a pair of spine-like features on the ventrolateral side of the aedeagus, a well-developed basal lobe of the pygofer with an inward-pointing spine-like projection, small scale-like operculum, and wings exhibiting infuscation on the radial, radiomedial crossvein, medial crossvein, mediocubital crossvein, and cubitus anterior 2, while lacking tubercles. This study highlights the traits that establish this species as a new discovery and provides insights into its habitat and seasonal appearance.
