Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) who have difficulty regulating their blood glucose levels can use glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs), which are a preferred option for treatment. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the similarities and differences in function between once-weekly GLP-1 RAs, and specifically highlights how pharmacists can provide better medication management, patient education, and overall health outcomes for patients with diabetes. Methods: This study was a narrative review of the literature regarding the mechanism of action (MoA) of once-weekly GLP-1 RAs that are currently being used to treat T2D.
