From Advice to Action: Integrating Physical Activity Prescription into Primary Healthcare in Sub Saharan Africa: A Critical Narrative Review

This critical narrative review examines how physical activity prescription is integrated into primary healthcare systems in Sub Saharan Africa. It maps evidence on assessment, advice, goal setting, support and referral using the 5As. Enablers and constraints are interpreted through the WHO health system building blocks. Population impact is considered through RE AIM. The review distinguishes services reported as absent from services not studied. It will propose an integration framework adapted to the region and positioned against the WHO primary care physical activity toolkit.
