Peer groups constitute a ubiquitous interpersonal environment that exists extensively among adolescents. They shape the values and behavioral patterns of young people, play a unique and irreplaceable role in adolescent ideological and political education, and serve as an important avenue for adolescent socialization. To carry out ideological and political education work among adolescent peer groups, educators must respect and attach due importance to the influence of these groups on such education; reduce the coercive elements present in the educational process; provide differentiated guidance and education tailored to different types of peer groups; strengthen education in core socialist values; and embed ideological and political education within group activities.
