We report highly contiguous genome assemblies from eight cultured Planktothrix rubescens strains isolated from Lake Zurich, Switzerland. Hybrid Illumina and Nanopore sequencing produced high-quality, near-complete, near-contaminant-free assemblies, including seven single-contig genomes, four flagged as circular.
