Dental implants are a predictable treatment option for replacing missing teeth; however, anatomical limitations such as ridge resorption, sinus pneumatization, poor bone quality, and proximity to vital structures may prevent conventional implant placement. Advanced implant surgical procedures, including guided surgery, tissue augmentation, sinus floor elevation, ridge expansion, immediate implant protocols, and alternative implant anchorage systems, have expanded treatment possibilities. Digital technologies such as cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), intraoral scanning, and computer-assisted planning have improved diagnostic accuracy and surgical precision. This condensed narrative review summarizes contemporary advanced implant procedures, their indications, advantages, limitations, and future directions.
