The article is devoted to a comparative assessment of the effectiveness of manual fire barrels (RPS) in order to select the best sample for equipping fire protection units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. A comprehensive methodological approach is proposed, which includes three complementary tools: the expert assessment method for determining the weighting coefficients of the technical parameters of the RPS, and fuzzy logic for synthesizing a generalized performance indicator (PEI) combining a dimensionless complex indicator of the quality control system. and a weighted average estimate, as well as the Pareto method for multi–criteria selection of the best sample according to the «efficiency – cost» criterion. Ten samples of domestic RPS have been compared. Based on the obtained PE values and the Pareto diagram, it was found that RSP-70AP, SRKU-8 and COURSE-8 have the highest efficiency, and in terms of the ratio of PE to cost, RSP-70AP and RS-70A are the most preferred. The proposed methodology provides a reasonable and reproducible approach to the selection of fire-fighting equipment, combining objective technical calculations with expert knowledge.
