Based on panel data of Chinese A-share listed manufacturing firms from 2015 to 2024, this paper explores the impacts and inner mechanisms of financial shared services on accounting information comparability. Results show financial sharing significantly improves accounting comparability; digital transformation strengthens this effect whereas controlling shareholder tunneling produces restraining influence, with earnings volatility acting as a partial mediator. Heterogeneous effects exist across firms grouped by ownership and executives’ overseas experience. This research offers practical suggestions for the differentiated construction of financial shared centers.
