The current rapid expansion of industrial and agricultural production, coupled with the growing impact of human activity and the uncontrolled consumption of natural resources, has led to the destruction of habitats for many living organisms. The ever-increasing toxic and anthropogenic pressure on the country's freshwater bodies threatens to trigger a global environmental crisis. There is an immense variety of pollutants entering water bodies today, and the ongoing development of the chemical industry constantly introduces new, complex compound mixtures. In addition to direct discharges from chemical and industrial facilities, the atmospheric deposition of technogenically altered substances plays a significant role in contaminating water bodies with heavy metal salts. The steadily rising levels of pollutants from various sources adversely affect the biological and chemical composition of most natural water bodies, resulting in a decline in fish and mollusk populations.
